Pick two of the interesting characters who want different but mutually exclusive things. Character A can’t have her thing if character B gets her thing (as easy as, Character A gets her bonus and will not lose her apartment if her workplace goes 365 days without a bank robbery, and Character B is a hungry and desperate bank robber). Have us want and understand why both of those characters need and want what they want. Then let them loose and watch what they do.

My inspiration for the feel of the rundown concept pieces for “American Gods” by Neil Gaiman. These are pictures of Cario in Illoinois. An area that is mentioned in the book.

“Gods die. And when they truly die they are unmourned and unremembered. Ideas are more difficult to kill than people, but they can be killed, in the end.”
