There is a woman. A beautiful woman with alabaster skin and the eyes of a dove. She travels by night, only by night. Her sun is the moon.

Rutger Hauer as Navarre in Ladyhawke
Trivia: Richard Donner originally wanted to cast Rutger Hauer as the evil captain of the guard while casting a younger actor, Kurt Russell, as Navarre. Hauer wasn’t interested in that role, but expressed interest in playing Navarre. When Russell dropped out a few days before principal photography began, the part was handed to Hauer. (x)

#the way isabeau says deadpan ‘really.’ when told by phillipe that navarre left him in charge and she’d do what he said #means that pre-curse isabeau during their sneaky courtship would 100% never ever do what navarre said #i’m
thinking in terms of [navarre tells isabeau of angou to stay out of
danger] [isabau does what she damn pleases] [navarre: DAMMIT WOMAN’] #i mean he’s the captain of the guard and she’s the daughter of some dead wealthy crusader staying with family in town #all respect to imperius’ little story of everyday seeing their love ‘grow richer’ and whatever but tbh #these
are two of the most stubborn people in this and any narrative and
that’s gonna mean sparks flying – it ain’t gonna be courtly love #it’s gonna be rick/evie levels of ‘the only thing that scares ME are your MANNERS’ #with a side of han/leia ‘i’d just as soon kiss a wookie/I CAN ARRANGE THAT’ #basically i can see these two getting so angry at each other they end up at the mid-argument ‘because i love you!!!’ outburst #and honestly i’m all over that like butter on hot toast #mainly because of how awful it makes their separation – if they had a volatile courtship there’s a lovely quality to the pining #regret! the whole ‘being a pain in the ass until it matters then being extremely gentle’ thing! #missing even their most abrasive moments! #cover me in sadness! I’m ready!
I have not seen what I have just seen. I do not believe what I believe, Lord. These are magical, unexplainable matters, and
I beg You not to make me a part of them.
