Well it’s been a long road, (unintential ENT pun) everyone, but It’s here!
Sometime today, November 10th, 2018, a process that nearly been five years in the making, being marked only by the collective memory of Tumblr’s Star Trek Side, which endures after all this time.
A worm is being born on some small planet out there in the galaxy,
and that worm will go through pain,
and loss,
and love,
and several different bodies,
But it will touch the lives of millions of us here on Earth. Some of us for the first time relating to someone who loves as we do.
I owe a lot to Dax, if you can’t tell. But if there’s anything Star Trek has taught me, it’s that there’s always a future to look forward to.
And I feel honored to have shared some of it with Dax.
Today is the begining of our future. Now, let’s not disapoint by not showing up, we’ve got a wormhole to get to in the next 370 years.

@romulan-commander and I were talking about how Ezri taking on the Dax symbiont is integral to her character but we both love Jadzia and hate her death and were trying to figure out ways this could work around and came up with:
AU where when Jadzia was hurt in Change of Heart it caused damage to her
connection with the symbiont and then Dukat’s attack made it worse so her body rejects the
symbiont but she can live without it now due to I dunno, trek science, however it causes damage to her
memories and she actually forgets Ben and that grief coupled with the attack on the station means he still leaves
but then Ezri still gets the symbiont and now has to deal with having some of Jadzia’s memories while she’s still right there
and no one really knows how to deal with especially not these two. but Ezri can help Jadzia recover some of her memories and Jadzia can help Ezri deal with the sudden onslaught of them and the symbiosis commission hates that the two of them are just existing like this because it def fucks up their whole ideal (I mean if two Trills aren’t supposed to interact who did in a previous lifetime them two Trills who hosted the same symbiont must be pissing them off)
I really like this idea because (1) Jadzia and Ezri being confused and in a bad situation but still helping each other out! (2) the Symbiosis Commission is trash and once they both feel better they can threaten the Commission to spill out all the things Dax knows and is supposed to keep secret, which would make me feel very vindicated
I’ve said it before: It makes total sense that Klingons are good at this. What are Klingons all about? HONOR.
Calling someone by a name they don’t want to be called? Misgendering them? That’s showing that you don’t respect them. You’re saying their identity is without honor.
Klingons are the kind of Warriors who’d pull out a sword or a knife when you misgender them or one of their friends, and demand you correct your mistake immediately. One way or another, you will not be doing that again, and if they have to shed the blood of some disrespectful petaQ? SO BE IT.
“Ezri, you always were too proud for your own good.”
While I am not really an Ezri fan I like that her story and this episode gave us Trills who weren’t interested in being joined and had their own lives that had nothing to do with being joined. It was neat to see the other perspective.
