That Quaint Small Town Named Sunnydale

feliciacraft:

Sunnydale, CA, just a couple of hours north of Los Angeles by car, must be the most interesting place to live! With a population of only 38,500 (as per the “Welcome to Sunnydale” sign in 2×03 “School Hard”), this piece of suburbia has:

Geographical Features

  • A hellmouth (1×01 “Welcome to the Hellmouth”)
  • A lake (1×12 “Prophecy Girl”)
  • A beach (2×20 “Go Fish”)
  • A cliff called Kingman’s Bluff (3×10 “Amends”)

BtVS AU: Rom-Com ∟ requested by lilahmorgans

Buffy Summers has been stressed out and on edge for months, when her best friend, Willow, advises her to let loose. After a wild night in the club, Buffy wakes up in her own bed, but with three numbers she doesn’t remember getting. She would forget about them and try meeting a nice guy somewhere else, but on the back of the sheet with the numbers she’d drunk-written ‘HE’S THE ONE’. Unsure which number the note referred to, Buffy heeded her friend Anya’s advice to test all three out, assuming it would soon become obvious to whom her note referred. But soon things got serious with all three, and Buffy found herself unable to choose. What happens when the three men found our they’ve been played, and will Buffy eventually find ‘the one’?

#they wasted Adam as a villain so much#every big bad to a degree is a shadow of buffy#but they never really explore this with Adam#both buffy and Adam as ‘cyborgs’ hybrid beings#one of the future (Adam) and one of the past (Buffy)#one made by a matriarch (Walsh) one by patriarchy (the Shadow Men)#both even have a very werid half successful attempt at intimacy/identification with Riley all season#both have practical alliances with spike#(Adam even makes Spike cry a little with his insight into spike’s soullessness…make of that what you will of Buffy)#Adam also represents an abject fear of buffy#that she will lose her identity in her hybrid form#that the monsters she fights will overtake her body#and her identity#i doubt Adam’s human name was actually ‘Adam’#all we know is that he was related to the gov’t here and ‘parts of him’ use to be  a boy scout#(like buffy and her all american girl-ness)#in season five she fears becoming bascially what Adam describes here:#a demon#a name of some swallowed up human that ‘not a man among us can remember’#shit why do i have Adam feels it was such a waste
