Production DesignConstantine (2005)

That was actually a combination of me and the visual effects supervisor and the production designer sitting down and sort of coming up with the biological growth that’s growing all over the cars and what that looks like and the color palette. And we started to look at the nuclear test films from the 1940s of the nuclear blasts and just decided that it would be great if the landscape was not only violent with these creatures, but also the atmosphere. So we decided that it was kind of an eternal nuclear blast except nothing ever really gets obliterated because it’s eternal and it’s constantly going. – director Francis Lawrence on the appearance of Hell; P.D. by Naomi Shohan

One of Kilgrave’s most innocuous yet insidious orders is “smile.” It’s repeated throughout the first season, and the name of the finale. Any woman knows the loaded meaning of smile. It’s a seemingly simple, even friendly request uttered by so many men in public spaces, that its essentially demanding like Kilgrave is. While this instance was for a forged document and something small, it gives Jessica a chance to open up both physically and in the narrative.

BWEAKFAST, BWEAKFAST IS WHAT BWINGS US TOGEVVER TODAY

“Sonny, true love is the greatest thing, in the world-except for a nice MLT – mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. They’re so perky, I love that.”

Joxer was a hero. Not because of his prowess in battle, or a sharp strategic mind, but because of his undying loyalty to his friends. Because he would fight them, die for them, hurt for them, unselfishly and without regret. That is one thing I will always admire about Joxer – his heart.

Love this and the excellent commentary. My favorite parts of Joxer was when they showed him to be the kind Hufflepuff that he was.
